Our Journey
At the heart of Anne Mulaire’s you will experience a commitment to sustainability, to crafting with intention, and to honouring the legacy of those who came before us.
Fashion Rooted in Métis Heritage
Anne Mulaire was founded with a commitment to sustainability, quality, and heritage. From the beginning, our mission has been to create fashion that respects both people and the planet. We strive to produce timeless pieces that are not only stylish but also environmentally responsible.
The Past, Present & Future
Anne Mulaire began in 2005 when founder Andréanne Mulaire Dandeneau launched her brand from her parents’ basement in Winnipeg. Drawing from her Anishinaabe/French Métis roots, she blended sustainability with Indigenous design, using eco-friendly fabrics and honoring her ancestor, seamstress Catherine Mulaire.
Today, the company operates in Winnipeg, producing all garments locally with a focus on zero-waste and circular fashion. As a B Corp certified brand, it offers inclusive sizing (XXS–6X), custom tailoring, and programs like garment repair and resale.
Anne Mulaire plans to expand its circular innovations, including textile-to-textile recycling. Staying local and sustainable, the brand aims to grow its impact while continuing to lead in Indigenous and ethical fashion.

Our Promise During Changing Times
Made By People, Rooted In Heritage
Anne Mulaire is a Métis-led, women-owned brand, and that's not a detail, it's the whole point. The prints you see, the designs you wear, and the stories we tell carry real meaning. Many of our prints come from our creative partnership with Métis Elder and artist David Albert, some created decades ago. That authenticity can't be manufactured, and we'd never want it to be.
So Here Is Where We Stand On AI.
We use technology as a tool, the way a tailor uses a sewing machine, to help us finish, refine, and run a better shop. It might tidy a photograph or help us understand what our community needs. But it never does the creating. The artwork, the design, the photography, the ideas, and the meaning behind them all come from real people. They always will.
We believe you deserve to know who made what you're looking at. When you choose Anne Mulaire, you're choosing work made by human hands, carrying real heritage not generated by a machine. That's a promise we're proud to keep.
